Patti Austin and Kate White

New York Times Best Selling Author Kate White & Grammy Winner Patti Austin

March 25, 2013
Westin Copley Place, Boston

What a double bill! First up, New York Times Best Selling Author and Long-time Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan Magazine, Kate White sat down with her friend Candy O’Terry, BWME President and host of Magic 106.7’s award winning radio show, Exceptional Women. Kate shared her gutsy and over the top success story including what it’s like to oversee Cosmopolitan Magazine while raising a family and writing books that land on the New York Times best seller list.

Next up, we sat down with Grammy Winner Patti Austin.  As a performer, songwriter and vocalist she has had a star-studded career that began at the age of four, making her one of the most beloved artists the world over and a mainstay on the Billboard Jazz Albums charts. But there’s more…because of how important mentoring has been to Patti throughout her life, she co-founded the Over My Shoulder Foundation. Patti attributes much of her musical success to her mentors most notably the close guidance of her godparents Quincy Jones and Dinah Washington.
