On June 17th WCVB Anchor Liz Brunner & Magic 106.7’s Candy O’Terry, broadcaster and host of the award winning weekly series Exceptional Women hosted “The Story Behind Her Success” featuring Yolanda Cellucci, Boston’s ‘Goddess of Glitz’ and her daughter Sondra Celli, star of TLC’s ‘Bling It On’ & “My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding.” Sondra’s massive rhinestone covered gypsy gown will be on display. The Story Behind Her Success is presented by Boston Women In Media & Entertainment and the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.
The evening began with intimate one-on-one interviews that revealed how rhinestones, feathers and chutzpah =success. All attendees were invited to meet both Yolanda & Sondra at a reception directly following the interviews that featured light hors d’ouerves, raffle prizes and cash bar. Proceeds benefit Boston Women in Media & Entertainment’s college scholarship fund.

New York Times Best Selling Author Kate White & Grammy Winner Patti Austin

What a double bill! First up, New York Times Best Selling Author and Long-time Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan Magazine, Kate White sat down with her friend Candy O’Terry, BWME President and host of Magic 106.7’s award winning radio show, Exceptional Women. Kate shared her gutsy and over the top success story including what it’s like to oversee Cosmopolitan Magazine while raising a family and writing books that land on the New York Times best seller list.
Next up, we sat down with Grammy Winner Patti Austin. As a performer, songwriter and vocalist she has had a star-studded career that began at the age of four, making her one of the most beloved artists the world over and a mainstay on the Billboard Jazz Albums charts. But there’s more…because of how important mentoring has been to Patti throughout her life, she co-founded the Over My Shoulder Foundation. Patti attributes much of her musical success to her mentors most notably the close guidance of her godparents Quincy Jones and Dinah Washington.
