We’ll light some candles, fill our glasses, sit back and hear about Joyce’s many adventures chatting up the world’s biggest stars. BWME co-founder and dear friend Candy O’Terry will do the interview honors from Joyce’s spectacular living room in Wayland as we capture a little inspiration from her brilliant career and find out what she’s up to now.

This time we’ll shine the spotlight on Michele McPhee, BWME member, award winning columnist, best selling author, journalist and host of The Michele McPhee Show heard afternoons from 3-6 on 1510 WMEX.
BWME Co-founder & President Candy O’Terry will interview Michele at the Lenox Hotel on Tuesday, September 22 from 6:30-8:30. The location of the hotel…just feet from the Boston Marathon finish line is the perfect setting for Michele to detail what she discovered while covering the Boston Marathon Bombing in her upcoming book Maximum Harm, that takes an investigative look at Boston Marathon attack. The book is scheduled for release by ForeEdge books in 2016. The two will also discuss Michele’s career path that began with a 6 month college internship at the Boston Globe to award winning investigative journalist and radio host.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit The Martin Richard Foundation, founded in honor of 8 year old Martin from Dorchester, killed at the Boston Marathon finish line in 2013.

The event will feature a live segment of BWME’s award-winning series, The Story Behind Her Success hosted by former WCVB Anchor Liz Brunner. Ms. Brunner will sit down with Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito for a one-on-one interview and discuss Her Honor’s own personal story behind her success and the importance of women working together to build upon the success of female business ownership and entrepreneurship. The breakfast will be followed by a guided tour of the female-owned businesses in Harvard Square.

On June 17th WCVB Anchor Liz Brunner & Magic 106.7’s Candy O’Terry, broadcaster and host of the award winning weekly series Exceptional Women hosted “The Story Behind Her Success” featuring Yolanda Cellucci, Boston’s ‘Goddess of Glitz’ and her daughter Sondra Celli, star of TLC’s ‘Bling It On’ & “My Big Fat American Gypsy Wedding.” Sondra’s massive rhinestone covered gypsy gown will be on display. The Story Behind Her Success is presented by Boston Women In Media & Entertainment and the Connecticut School of Broadcasting.
The evening began with intimate one-on-one interviews that revealed how rhinestones, feathers and chutzpah = success. All attendees were invited to meet both Yolanda & Sondra at a reception directly following the interviews that featured light hors d’ouerves, raffle prizes and cash bar. Proceeds benefit Boston Women in Media & Entertainment’s college scholarship fund.

What a double bill! First up, New York Times Best Selling Author and Long-time Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan Magazine, Kate White sat down with her friend Candy O’Terry, BWME President and host of Magic 106.7’s award winning radio show, Exceptional Women. Kate shared her gutsy and over the top success story including what it’s like to oversee Cosmopolitan Magazine while raising a family and writing books that land on the New York Times best seller list.
Next up, we sat down with Grammy Winner Patti Austin. As a performer, songwriter and vocalist she has had a star-studded career that began at the age of four, making her one of the most beloved artists the world over and a mainstay on the Billboard Jazz Albums charts. But there’s more…because of how important mentoring has been to Patti throughout her life, she co-founded the Over My Shoulder Foundation. Patti attributes much of her musical success to her mentors most notably the close guidance of her godparents Quincy Jones and Dinah Washington.
