Mable Chan is a award-winning television journalist turned entrepreneur.
She is the Founder/CEO, Host and Executive Producer of “One in a Billion” – a podcast about bicultural and bilingual millennials with personal ties to China and America. She launched China Personified website (video/blogs) in 2012 which was incorporated into One in a Billion Productions Inc (501c3) as a non-profit educational media company in 2017.
A Hong Kong born, bilingual TV news producer with more than twenty five years of experience with American networks – ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and Hong Kong television (HK-TVB), Mable had traveled the world covering major stories in China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Europe.
Mable began her broadcast journalism career at WWOR-TV in New York after obtaining her Bachelor’s degree from S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She moved to Hong Kong to become principal anchor/reporter for Hong Kong Television Broadcasts (HK-TVB).
An award-winning producer, Mable has achieved excellence in journalism with top honors including the Edward R. Murrow, the DuPont-Columbia, and the George F. Peabody. Mable is widely recognized in the media industry for her creativity, energy, and professional commitment to deliver the highest quality production. A Harvard graduate with a Master’s degree in East Asian Studies (AM’93), Mable finished her one-year appointment as a Visiting Scholar at the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard (2010-11), and remains an “Associate-in-Research” at Harvard University.
