Biographical Info

Jude Bedel is Director of Development of Boston Children’s Chorus, and is charged with planning, implementing, and directing the Chorus’ comprehensive philanthropic programs. She works closely with the staff and leadership to cultivate and expand on the Chorus’ dedicated group of funders and supporters.

 An alum of the DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the John F. Kenney Center for Performing Arts, Jude brings over 15 years of experience in philanthropy and nonprofit management. She has held fundraising positions with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Washington National Opera under the leadership of tenor Plácido Domingo. In 2010, she led the development department at Arizona Opera, playing an integral role in the company’s successful turnaround and assisted in the capital campaign for the new Opera Center. Moving back the east coast, she joined Emmanuel Music as Director of Development to support over 50 annual performances, as well as education and outreach programs. She has also held leadership advancement positions at Mount Auburn Cemetery and New England Conservatory.

 A passionate advocate for the vital role that funders and donors play in creating opportunity and improving lives through the arts, Jude is also a violinist and vocalist. She has performed in ensembles at Carnegie Hall, Interlochen Center for the Arts, CRAPEC Conservatoire (France), Cathedral Choral Society in Washington, DC, and she continues to perform with local groups in Boston. Originally from France, she now lives in Boston with her husband and two sons.
