Myriam A. Michel is the founder of M&M Elite Events, a boutique events and wedding planning firm that has been exceeding clients’ expectations in making their dream day a reality since 2009. As the owner and lead consultant of M&M Elite Events, Myriam brings a wealth of expertise in executing international conferences and gala dinners for dignitaries, universities, non-profits, and business leaders as well as coordinating private events such as weddings, dinners, and parties for birthdays and graduations. Myriam is committed to creating unforgettable experiences that excite her clients and their guests while going above and beyond to bring a unique flair to every event.
Reflecting on her time as an event planner, Myriam says, “Emotion plays a big role in creating a special event. I pride myself in capturing the client’s spirit to create events that see their vision become reality. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than seeing the smiles from clients and their guests after an event.”
M&M Elite Events has had the privilege of coordinating fundraising events for Governor Deval Patrick, Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy III, and Boston Mayoral candidate Charlotte Golar Richie as well as designing a private birthday party for Boston City Councilor Tito Jackson. In a short time, Myriam’s work has appeared in such publications as Boston Weddings Magazine, The Knot, Bliss Celebrations, Style Me Pretty, and more. She’s a regular contributor on the Martha Stewart Weddings’ blog. She also garnered press coverage for her clients and their events in local and international publications including the Boston Globe, Improper Bostonian, NPR, New York Times, and the International Herald Tribune.
Prior to opening M&M Elite Events, Myriam served as the Program Development Manager for Boston University’s African Presidential Center. In that capacity, she planned and executed the logistics for annual policy conferences focusing on increasing capital flows to Africa, which were held throughout the U.S., Europe, and Africa and attended by more than 600 guests including heads of state and leaders from the public and private sectors. During her tenure, she also managed fundraising efforts to secure a $4 million grant from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in support of the Center’s programming.
Myriam has been intricately involved in coordinating logistics and travel for successful scholarly events and lectures for former diplomats participating in residency programs at colleges and universities throughout the United States and Africa, including Frederick Sumaye, former Prime Minister of Tanzania; Rupiah Banda, former president of Zambia; and, most recently, Raila Odinga, former Prime Minister of Kenya. Each event brought more than 200 attendees and received notable news coverage.
Myriam is a graduate of University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Business and Gastronomy at Boston University. She has served on the board of Boston’s Wish Upon a Wedding and is involved with various non-profit efforts throughout the Greater Boston area. Myriam is a devoted wife to her husband Donald, the loving mother to her children Dario and Genevieve, and the proud pet momma to her bullmastiff/English bulldog Simon.
