President, Co-Founder Award-winning radio & television personality, singer & recording artist
BWME President & Co-Founder Candy O'Terry has been on the air in Boston for nearly 25 years. If you were to ask Bostonians to name their favorite baseball team, clam chowder, pastry shop and female radio personality, the answers would most likely be: Red Sox, Legal, Mike's, and Candy O. Heard most recently as co-host in Morning Drive on Magic 106.7, Candy is also the creator and co-host of the station’s Exceptional Women show, winner of 43 local and national awards for excellence in women’s programming. It’s rare to find a woman who not only plays songs on the radio, but sings them herself. Over the course of her career, Candy has released 4 songs which have received both national and international airplay including The Gift, You Are The Only One, Silent Night and To Make You Feel My Love. Her new single Hasten Down The Wind with Livingston Taylor is a featured track on Dream Come True, Candy's first full length album released in May, 2015. She is a judge on the Emmy award winning TV talent show Community Auditions and has acted in 3 locally produced feature films. Her mission as Co-founder and President of Boston Women in Media & Entertainment is to provide unique opportunities for our members to connect and be inspired by the programming we provide. Candy is a tireless warrior in the fight against breast cancer, supporting numerous charities including the American Cancer Society, Friends of Mel, The Pink Rose Foundation and Lucy's Love Bus. She is a member of the Boston College Women’s Council and serves on the boards of Dream BIG, Strong Women, Strong Girls and the Warrior Dog Foundation/New England. A life long swimmer, Candy runs a swimming program every summer and is in the process of writing a children's book series with her daughter, Colleen.
